Implementing QuickBooks Enterprise 2009/10 QBi series is easier than you think. Read more about each of the implementation areas below:
Product Training
There are multiple types of training available to bring your staff up to speed on QuickBooks Enterprise. These include:
Tailored, Onsite Training
Reckon can arrange for a Reckon Systems Consultant or an Accredited Professional Partner to come out to your workplace and undertake tailored training to the specific needs of your organisation.
Formal Classroom Training
In conjunction with registered training organisations around Australia, Reckon conducts formal classroom training course which are designed for beginners through to advanced users of QuickBooks.
Even though this sort of training is a little more generic than tailored training, it is very informative and recipients will gather valuable tools and knowledge to complete their work tasks quicker and more efficiently.

Minimum Requirements
- Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7™ *
- 1.8 GHz Intel Pentium IV (or equivalent) with 512 MB RAM (or 1 GB RAM for Windows Vista/7™)
- 1 GB of disk space for QuickBooks installation
- Internet Explorer 6.0 or better required (Internet Explorer 6.0 is provided on CDROM; requires 70 MB)
- At least 256 colour SVGA video
- 800 x 600 resolution with small fonts
- Works with any printer supported by Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7™
- 24 x CD-ROM
- All online features/services require Internet access with at least a 56 Kbps modem
- Microsoft .NET Framework Common Language Runtime 1.1 (provided on CD, requires an additional 150 MB)
Multi-User Requirements
- Multi-user mode is optimised for Microsoft® Windows 2000 Server or Microsoft® Windows Server 2003 client-server networks, and Microsoft® Windows 2000/XP Pro/Vista/7 peer-to-peer networks.
- Novell® NetWare is supported but not recommended.
Integration Requirements
- Microsoft® Word and Excel integration requires Microsoft® Word and Excel 2000, 2002, 2003 or 2007.
- Microsoft® Outlook synchronisation requires Microsoft® Outlook 2000, 2002 or 2003
* The 64 bit versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Server 2008 operating systems are not supported
Implementation Process
Implementing an organisation-wide software solution can be a large task; and any costs savings made on a solution can be quickly lost when it comes to implementation costs. This is why Reckon offer two implementation options: an convenient assisted option, and a cost-effictive unassisted option.
Unassisted Implementation
If the budget is tight, and you have the confidence to be able to install QuickBooks Enterprise yourself, we can provide detailed instructions on installing QuickBooks, then on converting* your existing datafiles to the QuickBooks format, and finally in testing to ensure that the solution is working as required.
Alternatively, Reckon can assist you through the process of implementing QuickBooks Enterprise.
Assisted Implementation
If required, Reckon can come into your workplace and undertake a complete install of QuickBooks Enterprise. We will work with you through the software installation, conversion*, testing and training to ensure that the solution is properly configured as per your requirements.
Process
Upon the signing of the contract, the implementation process that will be undertaken is:

At mutually agreed dates, you and Reckon will discuss the status of the implementation, with the objective to ensure that the solution is meeting your needs. |
| Technical Support |
This will be ongoing once the solution is made live.
Once the solution goes live, you will be notified of how you can access your free telephone technical support.

*Note: in most cases when converting from other products, only a list conversion will be possible. This can include your Chart of Accounts, Items, Customer and Supplier lists.
Upgrading from QuickBooks
Upgrading to QuickBooks Enterprise from previous versions of QuickBooks is simple and trouble-free. The entire upgrade and data transfer process is usually relatively quick.
Users can upgrade to QuickBooks Enterprise from any of the following:
- QuickBooks v7
- QuickBooks v8
- QuickBooks 2002
- QuickBooks 2003
- QuickBooks 2004
- QuickBooks 2005/06
- QuickBooks 2006/07
- QuickBooks 2007/08
- QuickBooks 2008/09
- QuickBooks 2009/10

Converting from Another Solution
Switching to QuickBooks Enterprise will in most cases allow you to transfer existing lists including: creditors, debitors, items and your chart of accounts. All can be imported from any accounting software package that permits the export of creditor, debitor, item and chart of accounts lists into Microsoft Excel.
